Opening

I'm sitting backstage. The Play I've been toiling on – more like toiling about toiling – for two months, it's finally opened. I can breathe a sigh of relief.

Last night, as we were cleaning, the Stage Manager thanked me. She said that she was glad I was working with her. She told me she didn't think she'd be able to run the show without me, and that I had the drive to be a real Stage Manager. An honest compliment, one that validated my work and brought me right out of my stressed slump. I may not get much visible credit, but things like that make me content to be an invisible backstage force of nature.

Most of my immmediate family has headed off to Hecate's Sickle in Washington for the weekend. This is the first ATC festival taht I've missed ever since I started going 3 years ago. I really want to be there. It's important to me. But the loss is numbed with pride. Pride in the fact that I got to work with a co-founder of Bard of the Beach, and impress her (along with several other highly regarded local stage professionals), and pride that I can count myself among those who made the show happen. Something I can't always say: I love school, and if this ever becomes my job, I'll love it even more.

PS: I get all of Sunday and Monday night off. Can you say Sunday Tea and Korean Movie Mondays? I think so!

PPS: Go see my show, it's running November 4-12th (excepting Sundays and Remembrance Day). More info here.

Fucking rights! Silmido, bitches!

Good to hear things are going well, lovely. I look forward to seeing you.

I'm glad things are well. I (and James and Kitty) will miss you at the hand-fasting but KMN is important. Enjoy and YAY!
