The Edge of the Internet

The colossal effort to move myself to the new house wears (sp) on. It is incredibly bothersome how the amount of stuff I own seems to be more then the time I have to pack it. It feels like I have spent all of this month either packing, cleaning, or moving my belongings to the new house. I feel like I’m in a prison somewhere moving dirt from one pile to another one day just to move it back the other. I feel like that Greek fellow pushing his rock up a mountain. There is an end in sight though. My room with the exception of my computer, its cabling, and my bed have now all been packed. Come Saturday I will be ready for the last final push.

Then of course comes the unpacking. I shudder at the thought.

Derek, Neal, and Maecella – Thank you so much for your help on Sunday. I don’t think we would have survived the move without you.

I found some old photos hidden away in a box on a top shelf tonight. They were of my grandfather and I. It was my fifth birthday, and he was sitting with me at the table. You can see the love he had for me in his eyes. I’d never noticed it before. Maybe it’s the stress of the move, the money problems leading into Dragon Con at the end of the month, the fact that I have to go to my mothers place to house sit for her tomorrow robbing me of time to get the last little things done. But I looked at the photos and found my eyes would not stop tearing up. I miss my grandfather something fierce, he was the only male in my early life I respected. He was my father figure and much of my mannerisms stem from him as well as my name. I can’t remember the last time I wept.
