basic functions
I have such trouble controlling my use of time. I'm being pretty good right now, getting in the practice time, saying no to extraneous things for the most part (though I've said yes to too many gigs, but that's money), but I can't seem to make my sleep schedule conform.
I'm excited about so many things that are so very likely to turn around and slap me in the face right now. Ha. Something has got to give though. I know I'm pushing on a mountain, but it's made of soapstone, yknow, and it's starting to sound more hollow.
Apparently I am less anal than most oboists. HAhaha. Yeah. Did I mention I really like work? hahaha. I made a beautiful little oboe reed display with cane and one of the multicoloured reeds and some knives and cutting blocks. It delights me.
The cello is truly a beautiful instrument. I wish I had time to learn to play it better...oh well, it's fun to play it badly, too.
I am really afraid of this month. The audition, three concerts, recital preparation. I must, must MUST get a bunch of reeds made early, otherwise I'm going to go insane...in a bad way.
no skiing tomorrow, I don't think, but that's ok, will use the time to practice. and print out excerpts...I'm still missing a part for the ravel piano concerto....urgh!
